I would like to welcome you warmly to our concerts for 2010.
We have a series of four concerts throughout the year offering enjoyment for all the family. Maria, our artistic director has a special interest in encouraging young people to appreciate fine music. With this in mind our first concert is sure to appeal to our children, as well as our older patrons. It will include a narrator who is planning a lot of fun and surprises.
The second concert, in April will feature the newly formed Lurline Chamber Orchestra, a 13 piece chamber orchestra performing for the first time in the mountains. I am really looking forward to hearing them. This is the manifestation of a long held dream for Maria who was playing in a chamber orchestra at the age of eight and now has formed an orchestra of her own.
In the second half of the year we will again have the opportunity to enjoy two house concerts at Werona, much loved by our subscribers. The August concert features Mendelssohn and Beethoven with a new work by an Australian Composer, James Cuddeford. The October concert sounds wonderful and is described as a Roadtrip of the Senses…can’t wait for this one.
