Forthcoming concerts

The Lindsay Trio will play our last concert of the year on the 1 and 2 December: Schubert, Roussell, and Mozart. They've already indicated that due to a current baby boom (two of them are expecting), they won't be playing for us next year as a trio. Don't miss them in December!

Artist biographies

Judith Rough (soprano)
Since moving from Sydney to Philadelphia in 2000, Judith has focused on concert and recital work. She has performed solo recitals for the Lupus Foundation of America (2003 & 2004), and participated in recitals for the American Guild of Organists (2002,2003 & 2004) and for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. In 2004 she sang the role of Lucy in Menotti’s “The Telephone” at the Fleisher Art Memorial and in several Philadelphia schools as part of their music program. She has been a soloist and ensemble member of professional chamber choirs Voces Novae et Antiquae and the Lady Chapel Singers, touring with them in the United States and Europe.  (Read full biography.)

Maria Lindsay (violin)
Maria Lindsay graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and has held positions with the Sydney Sympony and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. She has toured extensively in Australia and overseas. Maria has appeared as guest concertmaster a soloist with several Sydney orchestras. She is a founding member of the Linday trio and the Apollo Trio, with whom she performs in Sydney and regional NSW. She has performed as soloist and member of the Trio Australia and has performed contemporary chamber music with Klangforum Vienna and the Seymour Group Sydney. She initiated the Blackheath House Concert Series, of which she is Artistic Director. (Read full biography.)

Josephine Allan (piano)
Noted Australian pianist Josephine Allan is much in demand for her chamber music and ensemble playing, and regularly collaborates with leading singers and instrumentalists. As the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Keyboard since 1996, she has worked with many of the world’s leading conductors, including Lorin Maazel, Charles Dutoit, Edo de Waart and Gianluigi Gelmetti. She has also performed with a diversity of other ensembles, such as the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Australia Ensemble, the Song Company, Cantillation, the Seymour Group, Alpha Ensemble, and the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.  (Read full biography.)
